Scripture Text: "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

Well, good morning and thanks for joining us here at In the Garden Ministries.  Today we are continuing on talking about A new Life.  Today I am going to share with you about "The Mind of Prayer"  Isaiah 26:3 says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."

Often times when I go before God to pray, I have to check myself.  Have you ever needed to do something that you really didn't want to do? Your are on your way home and the car is almost out of gas.  The price of gas is so high, and you think maybe it will go down a few cents tomorrow.  It is freezing cold outside, I really don't want to stop.  Then you think about it.  If I don't stop I'm going to run out of gas and be stranded and have to walk to get assistance.  All of a sudden you don't mind pulling into that gas station and filling your tank.

Maybe you have to go to a relative's house for a family reunion.  You really do not want to go.  You know it will be crowded and there will surely be one relative that will make you feel uncomfortable..  Why you become so anxious about it that you become physically sick and maybe yell at your spouse and just make life miserable for those around you.  Then you stop to think, maybe God wants you to go.  You may miss out on the opportunity to lead a member of your family to Christ or say words of encouragement to one that is hurting.  Maybe they have lost contact with friends and family because of their attitude, oops, sounds like you could be talking about yourself.  Then you realize that you are a Christian, you are Christ like, ask yourself, What would Jesus do?

My friend when we go to prayer we need to have an attitude check.  Are we praying selfishly?  Are we praying because we want God to show someone we are right?  Maybe we are praying because we are the deacon or even the pastor.  God help us when we pray, we need to first seek God and repent of our thoughts and reasons.  II Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Then  we find in Jeremiah 29:15 these words... "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart".

When you go to prayer you need to have the right attitude and if you have the mind of prayer, if you are a true prayer warrior THAT will effect your attitude towards how you pray.  Remember Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee."   May God bless you, let's pray.

Father, give us the mind and the attitude of prayer.  Give us the heart for and a love for prayer.  God make us your prayer warriors.  We love you Lord, in Jesus name I pray. Amen
