Scripture Text:
"Even then will I bring to my Holy mountain, and
make them joyful in my house of prayer, their burnt
offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted
upon mine altar, for mine house shall be called a
house of prayer."
Isaiah 56:7 (KJV)
Good morning,
what a great day to serve the Lord. This is
Osella coming to from In The Garden Ministries here
in St. Joseph, Mo. Join with me as we continue
looking at a Life of Prayer. Today I would
like to talk about the JOY of prayer.
Years ago when
our children were little around 6:00 in the evening
the door would open and daddy would come in from a
busy day at the office. When he would open the
door our little ones would run yelling, daddy!
daddy! daddy! He would pick them up and hug
them, spin them around and give them a kiss.
Then he would take time to play with them while I
got supper up. Our children were very happy to
see daddy. But, you know what? Daddy was
overwhelmed with love and joy when they came running
to him.
When they got
older and started school they looked forward to
daddy being there to pick them up after school.
It was their time to play silly kids. Daddy
would buy them a treat and just spend time with each
child. The time they spent together helped to
build a strong bond between father and child.
When they reached their teens they still wanted time
with their daddy. They wanted that individual
time when they could sing with daddy and when they
could talk with daddy. These times my friends,
made daddy proud and happy.
The children
are all grown now and have kids of their own, but
when they are facing a problem or a tough decision
they come to daddy for guidance. By the way,
now we have little grandchildren running into our
house yelling grandpa.
Isaiah 56:7
says "Even them will I bring to my Holy mountain,
and make them joyful in my house of prayer, their
burn offerings and their sacrifices shall be
accepted upon mine altar, for mine house shall be
called a house of prayer." and Revelation 8:3
"And another angel came and stood at the altar,
having a golden censer; and there was given unto him
much incense, that he should offer it with the
prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which
was before the throne." Oh my friend it brings
joy to God our Father to hear our prayers. He
longs for and looks forward to fellowship with us.
God created man to have fellowship with. Just
as He walked in the garden with Adam and Eve and
communicated with them. He longs to walk with
and to communicate with us. Did you ever stop
and realize that YOU can bring joy to God through
your prayers. Yes just as Wayne loved and
found great joy when his children ran to him yelling
daddy, daddy, daddy! so our heavenly Father finds
joy when we run to him. God bless you.
Let's pray.
Oh loving Heavenly Father, we love you. We
love you so much Lord. You are always there
when we need you. May we spend more time with
you Lord. May we continually tell you that we
love you and thank you for all you have done and do
for us. Lord fellowship with us today, walk
with us today. We love you. In Jesus
name I pray AMEN
