"The Sustenance Of Prayer"
Series: A New Life - Pt 3

Scripture: "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." Isaiah 65:24

Again, one of the definitions of sustenance is "a supplying or being supplied with the necessities of life." Oh my what a wonderful God we serve. Isaiah 65:24 says "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." Wow! before we ask he answers, while we are yet speaking he hears.

How many of us as parents have enjoyed and felt good about being able to help our children. Being able to meet their needs gives us a feeling of fulfillment. Our youngest daughter is studying to be a nurse. A couple days a week she has clinicals. To help make ends meet she also works at a nursing home. She spends most of her days in scrubs. She had 2 pairs plus 1 set that the school furnished. One day she came home and on the couch lay two new pairs of scrubs. Wayne had told me she was working so hard and doing a great job. He gave me the money to go buy her two new sets. If only you could have seen her face light up. She told her daddy he was an answer to her prayers.

One cold winter day while driving down the street, I noticed a young boy, waiting for the school bus, without any gloves. His face and ears were bright red from the cold. I pulled over and rolled down the window and handed him a pair of gloves. He said oh no. I told him it was ok that I had two pairs. As I drove away I saw him put them on his hands and cover his ears to keep them warm.

Being new evangelist we had been struggling to make ends meet. We came home from a revival meeting one snowy night. On our back porch there was not one not two, but nine bags of groceries and an envelope with $50.00 in it.

My friend, live in the realm of prayer and you will see that is how God works. He will supply your every need answer every prayer. He will also use you to be the answer to someone else's prayer. He will use you to meet the needs of others. Let's pray.

Father use us, use me. May we please be the answer to someone's prayers today. Keep our hearts and minds open Lord to be used by thee. Father, many of us have needs and we just want to thank you because we know the answer IS on the way, in Jesus name I pray Amen.
