Scripture:
"Therefore I say unto you, take no thought
for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall
drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.
Is not the life more than meat, and the body than
raiment?" Matthew
6:25 (KJV)
Over the past couple of months we have talked a lot
about the power of God and the power of Prayer.
Today we read the newspapers and listen to the news
on the radio and TV. We hear about hundreds of
thousand who are loosing their jobs. Many
large business are closing their doors.
Individuals, some you may even know are having their
homes foreclosed on them. As we look around
things look pretty dim. I went to the grocery
store the other day and I had to pay $3.00 for a
gallon of milk, $3.00 for a gallon of orange juice
and just under $3.00 for a loaf of bread.
Gasoline prices are going back up and the
utility companies are saying they have to raise
their prices.
I know many of you are starting to worry about how
you are going to make ends meet. My dear friends God
says in His Word, the very words of Jesus,
"Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your
life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor
yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is
not the life more than meat, and the body than
raiment?" (Matthew 6:25) and Matthew 6:33 "But
seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and ALL these things shall be
added unto you." Last year the President sent
out stimulus checks to improve our economy.
The thought behind it was if we the people receive
these checks and spend them it would boost our
economy, well it didn't work. Yet, they are
thinking about doing it again.
God says if we as Christians will give, give of our
time, of our tithes of our offerings that he will
give back. Luke 6:38 "Give, and it shall be
given unto you: good measure, pressed down, and
shaken together, and running over, shall men give
into your bosom. For with the same measure
that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you
again. Want to get excited God, himself tells
us to prove Him in Malachi 3:10 God says, "Bring ye
all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may
be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith,
saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open YOU the
windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that
there shall not be room enough to receive it."
Let me tell you our God's not in a recession and He
doesn't need bailing out. He is ready to give
you everything you need, He is ready to pour His
blessing out upon you. Stop worrying and start
praying and give as God directs and watch as He
blesses you and opens the windows of Heaven right
above your head. While others are loosing
everything, as Christians if we just pray and ask
and give as God commands we will be blessed.
God bless you my friend, get excited about being a
Christian. Let's pray.
Father
we come to you today to say thank you for being
there to meet our every need. Teach us to be givers
Lord. Givers of our time, our talents, our love and
our money. Teach us that we cannot out give
you. Teach us that the more we give the more
you give us. Lord we love you. I ask that you
would bless ever member of In the Garden, take away
their worries Lord. May they each receive a blessing
today and may they each go forth and bless those
they come in contact with. Use them Lord and bless
them. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
