Scripture:
"Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the
law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
Today I would like to continue to share with you on how
we can receive our blessing. Yesterday I spoke about the Consecrated Christian.
Today I would like to speak about the Compassionate Christian. Galatians
6:2 says
"Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
Galatians 6:2 (KJV)
Galatians 6:2 is just one of numerous verses in the Bible that talks about
compassion, about giving to others about loving others about taking care of
others.
"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is
this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep
oneself unspotted from the world."
Oh by the way, those are not my words but
Gods. They are found in James 1:27.
One of my favorite portions of
Scripture is found in The 25th chapter of Matthew starting with the 34th verse
where Jesus talks about being hungry and we fed him, thirsty and we gave him to
drink, in prison and we visited him and that chapter ends with them asking
him when did we do these things and Jesus answered them by say in the 45th
verse,
"Then shall he answer them, saying, verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye
did it not to one of the least of these ye did it not to me."
My friend what Jesus is saying here, is how we treat others is
how we treat Him. We are to bear one another's burdens and if we are not
doing that we are not Compassionate Christians. In that 45th verse he says
to one of the LEAST. Have you reached out a helping hand to someone who is
hurting? Have you visited the sick and those in prison? Have you given to help
feed or clothe those less fortunate? Jesus says if we did not we did it not to
Him.
God wants to bless us but we need to be the Christian He wants us to
be, a real, true 100% Christian. Jesus wants the real thing not faux. He
wants us to totally and completely live our life for Him. Are You?
God bless you, let's pray.
Father, examine us today. Search our hearts and souls. Are we the
Christian You want us to be? Do we exemplify Christ? Oh Lord cleanse us
today and make us Christ like. Consecrate us Lord and fill us with the
love and compassion of Christ. We long to be your servant Lord. Teach us,
show us how to be totally like Jesus in whose Holy name I pray. Amen
