Scripture:
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither
bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ
Jesus." Galatians 3:28
Continuing on being the Christian God wants us to be. As
Christians we must not be prejudiced.
Galatians 3:28 reads
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is
neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."
We as
Christians are to love everyone. We are not to be prejudiced.
You say, I'm
not prejudiced, I like everyone. Everyone? How do you feel about the KKK?
Some of you were upset when President Obama was elected as President because of
his race. Poor guy, if he does a good job the blacks will say, "...it is because
he is black", and the whites will say, "well, he is half white". If he does a
bad job the blacks will say, "it is because he is half white" and the whites will
say, "I told you a black man should not be president". Think I'm joking?
I've already heard these remarks being made.
You say your not prejudiced?
What
about after the 911 bombings: how did you feel about the Arabic people?
Let's look a little
further into this. You say you are not prejudiced, but what about those who have
gone to prison, what about those who may have stolen from you? Would you
sit down at the same table with a gay person? Do you love the gays? Let's
go a little deeper than that, how do
you feel about that man that has raped a woman and then killed her? How do
you feel about little Kaylee's mother, Casey? Now let me ask you one more thing,
how do you feel about that person who molests little children? Does hate come over you?
Are you prejudiced?
Galatians 6:1 Says:
"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye
which are SPIRITUAL, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering
thyself, lest thou also be tempted."
I remember my mother use to say,
except for the grace of God there go I. and I Peter 4:8
says:
" And above all things have fervent charity
among yourselves: for charity shall cover the
multitude of sins."
You see, God expects us as true Christians not only to
love but to show love to those that are living in sin. God loves the
sinner, but He hates sin. I have seen many come to the Lord not because
we've preached at them, but because we have shown then love: the love of
Jesus. Many of those living a sinful life have never seen real love.
They have never felt the love of Jesus, but only the wrath of a Christian's
mouth. God help us!
Let me ask you again, are you prejudiced?
If you are, turn it over to Jesus and let him turn that prejudice into love.
God bless you, let's pray.
Father, we come to you today and ask that you would search every
part of our mind, soul and heart and even if there be an ounce of prejudice
there dear Lord please remove it. Help us Lord to forgive those who have
done us wrong, to forgive those who have hurt us or one of our loved ones. Lord
we know that they need you. Help us to reach out with the love of Jesus
and win them to your kingdom. Thank you Lord for saving us and keeping us
from doing wrong. When we have slipped Lord, thank you for forgiving us.
May we be Christ like and forgive them. In Jesus name I pray Amen.
