Scripture:
"For this God is our God for ever and ever:
He will be our guide even unto death." Psalms
48:14
Have you ever
taken a trip? Maybe some of you have been lucky
enough to go on a safari or journey to a far off
land. One thing for sure whether you are going a
few hundred miles or thousands of miles you need
some kind of guide. It may be a map, or directions
a friend has given you or you may actually have to
hire a guide to lead you. If we decide just to take
off not knowing which way to turn we may just end up
lost. One of the greatest journey's in the world is
our journey through life. Believe me, we need a
guide. The journey of life has many rough areas.
Many dry areas. Many dark and deserted areas. Many
lonely and devastated areas as well as happy and
pleasant areas. God did not create you and place
you upon this earth and leave you. In Psalms 48:14
he tells us "For this God is our God for ever and
ever: He will be our guide even unto death."
Oh what an
awesome God we serve he is there to give us guidance
if we will just seek him. When we are uncertain
about decisions we must make His word tells us in
Isaiah 42:16 "And I will bring the blind by a way
that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that
they have not known: I will make darkness light
before them, and crooked things straight. These
things will I do unto them, and not forsake them"
Have you had to make a very hard decision lately? He
is there to help you make it, just listen to him.
He is there to guide you. He is speaking to you. I
am sure that you have all heard the story of the
footprints in the sand. When there was only one
set, during troubled times it was because Jesus was
carrying us through. There are times you may feel
alone, you are not, He is there. Isaiah 30:21 "And
thine ears shall hear a word behind them saying.
This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the
right hand, and when ye turn to the left." My friend
if you are trying to make a decision turn to God, He
has the answer, he will direct you in the way to go.
When we come
to the end of our journey, He will be there to guide
us and strengthen us and then He will welcome us
with arms open wide.
"The Lord
is my Shepherd; I SHALL NOT WANT. He maketh me
to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me
beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for
his name's sake. Yea though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no
evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy
staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table
before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou
anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth
over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord for ever."
God bless you,
let's pray.
Father thank
you for always being there to help us make the right
decision. Teach us to listen to you dear Lord. Lord
Guide us and direct us on this journey of life.
Guide us to the green pastures, the pleasant times
in life and guide us through the dark valleys when
we face the hard times and even death. Bless each
and everyone who comes to In The Garden today Lord,
may they feel your presence and your love. In Jesus
name I pray. Amen
