Scripture:
"And, behold, I send the promise of my
Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of
Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on
high." Luke 24:49 (KJV)
I can't think of a more solemn occasion than to be
one of those who were gathered together - still
wondering what had happened to the Lord (for sure);
and he ALL OF A SUDDEN APPEARED ... RIGHT IN THEIR
MIDST!! TALK ABOUT SHAKING YOUR BODY AND SOUL TO THE
CORE???!!!
Yet, that's just what Jesus did, and to prove it was
he, he showed them his side and His hands and feet.
I can tell you that this old boy form Missouri
would've have wanted to say something but I would've
needed the anointing to open my mouth because all
you would've gotten out of me would've been,
"whadawhadawha.....".
HE HAD RISEN!!! HALLELUJAH! HE "HAS" RISEN!!!
Many of us go through our daily lives with all of
our trials and struggles - forgetting that very
thing! JESUS, THE LION OF JUDAH, THE ROSE OF SHARON,
THE KING OF KINGS HAS RISEN!!!! PRAISE HIS NAME!
Now let me ask you something here today... is there
anyone that can tell me that when God would allow
His only begotten Son to die such a horrifying death
and yet bring Him back to life in three days - that
HE DOESN'T HAVE SOMETHING WONDERFUL PLANNED FOR YOU?
You may lose everything, yet in the darkness of your
emotional graveside HE IS STILL CALLING YOU FORTH
JUST AS HE DID LAZARUS... because sometimes our
emotions have to be buried. Sometimes our desires
need to be crucified... Sometimes our selfish plans
need to feel the pain of a spear thrust into our
side so that we can find a NEW RESURRECTION in
Christ!
I don't know
what you're going through today. It may be the worse
pain you have ever known and your spirit, soul and
body could be so torn that you feel as though you
will never come out of it. Friend... let me
introduce you to "tarry". It's a word that the
Saviour used when He spoke to the disciples after
His resurrection. You see, He knew what they had
faced was rough on them and that what they were
about to face would even be worse... but he asked
them to go back to that house of prayer and "tarry"
there until they were endued with the Power from on
high. Why? He answers that question in the preceding
verses...
"Then
opened he their understanding, that they might
understand the scriptures, And said unto them,
Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ
to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third
day: And that repentance and remission of sins
should be preached in his name among all
nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are
witnesses of these things" Luke 24:45-48
(KJV)
That last
verse is the KEY my friend! "Ye are witnesses of
these things."
YOU
ARE HIS WITNESS to what He has done in your
life. You may not be as lively as you once were, you
may not be as daring as you once were; you may not
be as bold and dynamic as you once were... but FOR
GOD'S SAKE - GET INTO YOUR PRAYER ROOM AND "TARRY"
until the GLORY FLOWS! HE NEEDS YOU!!!
Let's pray.
Father, if ever there was a time I have felt the
urge to tarry it is now. Yes Lord, I have put it off
or gotten started and allowed something else to get
in the way - had to be to some meeting or do
something somewhere... and Father, I KNOW THAT I
NEED TO GET BACK IN THERE AND TARRY UNTIL THE GLORY
FALLS! I begin that even now Father! I set aside
everything and Holy Spirit I ask your help me to
tarry until I am drenched with the Glory of God!
COME HOLY SPIRIT!!! COME LORD JESUS!! I wait for You
O Lord. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
