SCRIPTURE: "They Word have I hid in mine
heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalms
119:11
In the fourth chapter of Mathew, we find a very tired,
hungry and worn out Jesus. He was in the
wilderness and had been fasting for forty days and
nights. As per normal along comes Satan, when
we are tired, and temps Jesus. Now he did not
temp Jesus one time but he tempted Him three times.
Each time Jesus used the Word to withstand the
temptations. I am here to tell you one of
the greatest defense weapons we have is God's Word.
No matter what you are facing you will find strength
in the pages of the Bible. No matter what
questions you are facing the answers are in between
the covers of God's word.
God's word will give you hope. God's Word will
provide you with strength. God's word will
lighten the pathway when all seems dark. God's
word will keep you from falling into sin.
Psalms 119:11 says "Thy Word have I hid in mine
heart, that I might not sin against thee." Remember,
Jesus, himself used the Word, so how much more
should we rely upon God's Word. Take time to
read and to study and to hide God's Word in your
heart. You will be blessed. How often do
you open your Bible, not counting on Sunday's when
you are following along with the pastor as he reads
the scripture? Actually when was the last time
you opened your Bible.
-
Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our
Bible like we treat our cell phone?
-
What if we carried it around in our purses or
pockets?
-
What if we flipped through it several times a
day?
-
What if we would run back into the house or
drive miles back to get it if we forgot it?
-
What if we used it to actually "receive" text
messages?
-
What if we treated our Bible like we couldn't
live without it?
-
What if we made it a part of our business and
made sure everyone who worked for us had one?
-
What if we gave it to our kids and our grandkids
as gifts?
-
What if we used it when we traveled?
-
What if we used it in case of emergency?
... by the way, where is your Bible now?
Oh but wait, there's more... Unlike your cell
phone, you don't have to worry about your Bible
being disconnected because Jesus already paid the
bill .. FOREVER!
Get connected my friend... The Bible is your REAL
Lifeline.
Let's Pray,
Father: Thank you for your Word. Teach us O Lord to
value it and to use it. Teach us to memorize your
Word. May we make it a real part of our everyday
life. God may we take your Word with us where ever
we go and share it with those we come in contact
with. Thank you for giving it to us to guide and
direct us, In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
