Scripture text:  "He that Saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked"  I John 2:6

When I was a little girl I use to love to dress up in my mama's clothes and act like her.  My children did the same when they were little.  They loved to put on our Salvation Army uniforms, bonnet and hat and act like they were preachers just like their daddy.  Today my grandchildren like to put on mama's clothes or grandpa's shoes and act like they are all grown up.  I watch as the little grandchildren that live with us take on our idiosyncrasies and say some of the exact things we say.  Children grow up possessing many of the attitudes and actions that they see from us.

I John 2:6 says "He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked."  When we take on the name of Christ, when we become Christians we should be Christ like.  We should walk like, talk like, love like and act like Jesus.  Examine your life, do you fall short when it comes to being like Jesus?  Let me ask you, do you love others the way Jesus does?  I mean do you love the poor, the down and out, those that are hurting, or are there those that you come in contact with that you find it almost impossible to love?  In your personal life do you spend time in the Word and in prayer as Jesus did?  Are your actions and oh yes your REACTIONS Christ like?   My dear brothers and sisters in Christ do those around you, your family your fellow worker, know beyond any doubt that you are a Christian and that Christ is the most important thing in your life.

Listen carefully as I read selected verses from the 2nd chapter of         I John and ask God to make you totally and completely Christ like in all ways.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

God Bless you, let's pray.

Father teach us to be just like Jesus.  Fill us with thy Holy Spirit Lord.  Fill us with the Love of Christ.  Lord may we have the heart of Jesus.  Lord may everything that we do and everything that we say be Christ like. When others see us Lord I ask that they would see Jesus.  We love you Lord, we are your servants and we want to be like Jesus in whose name we pray. Amen
