Scripture Text: " Fear ye not therefore. ye
are of more value than many sparrows." Matthew
10:31
On Monday's I take my daughter Carrie's two little
ones to the day care. She has to be at work by
6:30a.m. and the day care does not open until
6:30a.m. Well early yesterday morning it was
extremely windy. My four year old grandson,
Jacob was looking out the car window and he saw a couple
of birds in a tree. He said, "grandma it is so
windy, will the birds fall out of the tree and hit
the ground" I told him no, honey God has made
their feet where they can grab a hold of the tree
branch and even though they are light weight, the
wind cannot cause them to fall. Then he says,
"I bet as hard as the wind is blowing it will blow
their nest with the baby birds in it out of the
tree." I said no honey, God protects them and
there is sticky stuff that keeps it from
falling. Then little Jacob says, "Wow!
Grandma, God must be really powerful" He is I
replied. Then Jacob asked me, "grandma, if I fall
will God pick me up." I said yes honey God
will always be there to pick you up.
On my way home I could not help but think of what my
little grandson had said. You know sometimes as we
grow up, we often forget about the little things
that are right in front of us that shows what a
powerful God we serve. Matthew 10:31 says
"Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than
many sparrows." God loves us and his word promises
us that he will take care of us and if we fall he
will lift us up. Today as you go about
your normal everyday routine. Look around and
see the mighty power of our awesome God. See a
delicate flower gentle come up through the hard
ground and bloom into a beautiful blossom. See a
beautiful little baby come into this world with 10
little fingers and 10 little toes. See the
soft white clouds where yesterday there were storm
clouds. See the beautiful little birds gliding
across the vast sky. Watch the children
laughing and playing and chasing each other.
Watch as buds appear on trees. Feel the gentle rain
fall upon your face. Oh what a might God we serve.
Psalms 46
-
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help
in trouble
-
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be
removed, and though the mountains be carried into
the midst of the sea;
-
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled,
though the mountain shake with swelling thereof.
Selah
-
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make
glad the city of God, the holy place of the
tabernacles of the most High.
-
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be
moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
-
The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he
uttered his voice, the earth melted.
-
the Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is
our refuge, Selah
-
Come, behold the works of the Lord, what
desolations he hath made in the earth.
-
He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the
earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in
sunder, he burneth the chariot in the fire.
-
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be
exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the
earth.
-
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob
is our refuge. Selah
God bless you, let's pray.
Father I thank you for being a loving compassionate
God. For always being there to be there to pick us up
when we fall and to protect us against all things
that come our way. Lord I love you so much, I
thank you for my grandson reminding me in his own
little way of what a mighty powerful God we serve.
Lord bless the little children all over this world.
Show them how much you love them. Bless each
one who comes to this sight Lord. In Jesus
name I pray Amen.
