Scripture Text: " The Heavens declare the
glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his
handiwork." Psalms 19:1
One of the most beautiful trips that Wayne and I
have ever taken was to Colorado. When we went to the
top of Pikes Peak and we looked out, Oh my, we could
see for miles. It was so beautiful and
majestic, we just looked at each other and
said, "What a wonderful, awesome God we serve".
On my day off we often take a sandwich and drive to
the park to eat. One day last fall as we sat among
the trees we saw four little squirrels gathering acorns
and running up the tree with them. They were
not disturbed by the fact that we were watching
them. They knew that winter was coming and
they had to store up enough nuts to last them
through it.
Often in the evenings we go for a
ride just so we can sit in our car and watch the
sunset, so often it looks like what we imagine
heaven to look like. I love to watch the snow fall. The other day the flakes were so big they almost
looked like small snowballs. As they landed on
my jacket I looked at them and saw how beautiful and
different each one was. I was reminded that
there are not even two snowflakes alike. What a mighty
God, creator of all things we serve. Psalms
19:1 says
"The Heavens declare the glory of God; and
the firmament sheweth his handiwork."
He was just a little boy,
On a week's first day.
Wandering home from Bible school,
And dawdling on the way.
He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
He even found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
And blew out all the 'filler.'
A bird's nest in a tree overhead,
So wisely placed up so high.
Was just another wonder,
That caught his eager eye.
A neighbor watched his zig-zag course,
And hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he'd been that day
And what was going on.
I've been to Bible School ,
He said and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
'I've learned a lot about God.'
'M'm very fine way,' the neighbor said,
'for a boy to spend his time.'
'If you'll tell me where God is,
I'll give you a brand new dime.'
Quick as a flash the answer came!
Nor were his accents faint.
'I'll give you a dollar, Mister,
If you can tell me where God ain't.
God Bless you let's pray.
