Scripture Text: "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Galatians 5:1

How do we find our way into the diary of God? How do we know His will for our lives? we simply open the Word of God. There are no magic numbers, there are no lots to be cast or bets to be made, no special mantras or incantations - everything that has needed to be said considering the Wisdom of God has been said in the Word of God, The Bible.

In The Bible times, God spoke orally. Does He do so now?

The story is told of a Pastor who was seeking God for the Finances of his church, and he needed a miracle. As he continued in thought over what The Lord would have him do concerning this great debt of the church, he noticed that he began to see everything in triplicate - everything was coming in threes. Whether he was sleeping or awake, the number three kept showing up in his mind and he began to believe that the Lord was impressing the number three on his mind.

One day this minister came home and picked up the Newspaper from the step and he noticed it was the "THREE STAR EDITION". He turned to the third page and went to the third column and looked at the third paragraph and he noticed the title of the article read "HORSE RACES". He was startled then to read that the THIRD horse listed was TRIO. He proclaimed, "That's it!" The Lord is directing me to bet on this race and relieve the financial burden we now face.

Now WAIT !!!  There's more!!!

He then persuaded his church board to get together all of the finances they could so that they could put every last penny on TRIO. Well, Trio, came in THIRD!

In our day and age, "signs" are now the way people seek out God's direction. In fact, many of "God's children are seeking the daily horoscope and the daily talk shows who have regular guests that claim to have the insight of your future, and can even see the past and all of the ghosts that are hovering about you right now.

To know the mind of God concerning "ME" is the LIFE QUEST of almost every living and breathing person, even some of those who do not believe in Him.

So... are there "clues from heaven" or "wherever that we can stand firm on - that we can believe. Does God speak to us today?

The answer to that question is that in seeking wisdom from God, we must seek His word; for in seeking the wisdom of God, are we not truly seeking the "values" of God.

Let me give you the "iron-clad" WORD of the Lord concerning the matter.

If we go to Proverbs 2 we will find that God has given us a "blueprint" if you will for seeking the mind and will of God for you and for me.

We see there in those verses in Proverbs 2 the word "if" used three times in conjunction with the mind of God and His Will for you and for me. (Uh-oh, too bad the pastor we spoke of earlier didn't come here first) We can not go any deeper into the will of the Lord for our lives unless we make this the foundation of our faith walk with him.

There are, in this chapter, three times where we find the word "if" concerning the will of God for our lives. The first if is found in verse 1 where we read:

"My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;"

All through Life we have heard the words of God, we have been constantly reminded of the Ten commandments of the Lord and yet do we test our lives against those words, or do we listen too intently to the other voices of the world around us and follow their reasoning?

If you are like most, you will admit that yes, you hear the words of the Lord, but in this fast-paced world we live in, they are not your foundation, or at least, if they are your foundation, you have allowed them to be silent while you listened to and followed the other voices that reason with your mind and tell you that this is the "better" way; the more enlightened way. Yes, we hear the words of the Lord - for they are a part of our memory, a part of our bringing up, a part of our life-ethics, but to whom are you listening to today?

Whenever Jesus spoke a word to His disciples, he would preface or tag it with,

"He that hath ears to hear let Him hear."

I wonder are we giving God our full attention?

Hearing Him is the first step in hearing and knowing the wisdom of God.

Father... I ask that you will be my true wisdom; my true word. I ask that you will guide me and keep me in the precepts of the faith heritage of my youth, and remind me of your Word Daily as I go about my life's journey. I surrender today to your way in all aspects of my life. In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
